1st DAY: Rome - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento: After leaving Rome and driving along the "Sun Route" motorway, we will cross the regions of Lazio and Campania. Once in Naples, there will be a short panoramic tour of the city and we will then continue towards Pompeii, where after lunch, we will visit the excavations of this world-famous Roman town, which was destroyed by an eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD. Then we will drive along the Sorrentine Coast up to Sorrento, where we will have dinner and an overnight stay. 2nd DAY: Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento - Rome:
After breakfast, we will embark for Capri. On arrival, weather permitting,
we will enjoy a visit to the Blue Grotto by rowing boat. On the way
back, from the harbour of Marina Grande, we will go to Anacapri, a
tiny and picturesque mediterranean style village with a wonderful
view of the Gulf of Naples. Lunch break in a typical restaurant. After
lunch, free time is at your disposal to wander about the celebrated
"Piazzetta" and the characteristic streets of this little
town. In the afternoon we leave for Sorrento.
Please Note: In case of adverse weather conditions, should the visit to the Blue Grotto be impossible, it will be replaced by a visit to the Villa di San Michele in Anacapri. Free time at your disposal to discover the magnificent beauties of this peninsula, famous for its lemon, orange and olive groves. We will then head home to Rome. 1st DAY: Rome - Florence: After a short panoramic
tour of the city's northern part, we will leave Rome via the "Sun
Route" motorway, crossing the regions of Lazio and Umbria to
reach our destination: Florence. City of Etruscan-Roman origins, it
flourished in the Middle Ages as a free commune. Furtherly refined
by Renaissance Art and enriched by the Medici rule, Florence has since
become the cradle of the Italian language. We will arrive in the heart
of the city and visit the Galleria dell'Accademia, where the original
David by Michelangelo is kept, together with the third "Pietà"
and the Prisoners, which are also by Michelangelo. We will then proceed
to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with its magnificent dome
projected by Brunelleschi, the Baptistery with golden bronze doors
by Ghiberti and Giotto's Belfry. From here, we will walk to Piazza
della Signoria, where we can find the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's
Town Hall, the Loggia dei Lanzi with the Perseus by Cellini and the
Fountain of Neptune. After lunch, we will make our way to Piazza Santa
Croce. Free time is then at your disposal to visit the Church of Santa
Croce (with the graves of Michelangelo, Galileo, Rossini and Macchiavelli)
or to browse some typical shops, such as the ancient "School
of Leather". At about 17.00hrs we will continue by coach on the
Viale dei Colli to reach Piazzale Michelangelo, where a copy of Michelangelo's
David stands. From the square, we will enjoy the great view of the
city below with its famous Ponte Vecchio. 2nd DAY: Florence - Rome: Free time is at your disposal to discover Florence by yourself. Departure is scheduled in the afternoon at circa 16.00hrs. Duration: two days, one night Arrival times: approximately 21.00hrs on the 2nd day. Return to the hotels or close by (traffic permitting and according to road restrictions). 1st DAY: Rome - Assisi - Florence: We will depart at 08.00hrs via the "Sun Route" motorway, crossing the regions of Lazio and Umbria, to reach Assisi. Free time at your own disposal to visit the Basilica of St. Francis and the Church of St. Mary of the Angels. In the afternoon, we will continue towards Florence, where we will have dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel. 2nd DAY: Florence - Padua - Venice: Breakfast
at the hotel followed by a panoramic tour of the city, including the
Duomo, the Baptistry with golden bronze doors by Ghiberti, Giotto's
Belfry and Piazza della Signoria. After the visit of the city, we
will depart for Padua, where we will visit the Basilica of St. Anthony.
We will then carry on towards Venice, where we will have dinner and
an overnight stay in a hotel. 3rd DAY: Venice: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, there will be a tour of the city, which will begin with a transfer by boat to Piazza San Marco, with the visit of the square and of the exterior of the Doge's Palace. On the way back, we will visit a glass factory and the afternoon will be at your own disposal, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel. 4th DAY: Venice - Pisa: After breakfast in the
hotel, we will depart for Pisa. On arrival in the city and the hotel,
lunch will be at your discretion. In the afternoon, you will be given
free time to admire the Piazza dei Miracoli, the Leaning Tower and
the Baptistry (outdoor visit). Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
5th DAY: Pisa - Siena - Rome: Breakfast at the hotel followed by our departure for Siena. There will be free time at your own disposal to visit the characteristic alleys of this medieval village, the celebrated Piazza del Campo, the Duomo and the Palazzo Pubblico. In the afternoon, we will continue towards Rome and on arrival our services will end. Free time at your disposal to visit the characteristic alleys of this medieval village, the celebrated Piazza del Campo, the Duomo and the Palazzo Pubblico. In the afternoon, we will continue towards Florence, where we will have dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel. 2nd DAY: Florence: After breakfast in the hotel, there will be a panoramic tour of the city, including the Duomo, the Baptistry with golden doors by Ghiberti, Giotto's Belfry and Piazza della Signoria. The afternoon will be your own disposal to explore the rest of the city. This will be followed by dinner and a further overnight stay at the hotel. 3rd DAY: Florence - Pisa - Padua - Venice:
After breakfast at the hotel, we will head for Pisa for our sightseeing
visit, which will include Piazza dei Miracoli with the Leaning Tower
and the Baptistry (outdoor visit). In the early afternoon, we will
continue towards Padua, where we will visit the Basilica of St. Anthony.
After that, we will make our way to Venice, where we will have dinner
and an overnight stay at a hotel. 4th DAY: Venice: Breakfast at the hotel. In the
morning, there will be a tour of the city, which will begin with a
transfer by boat to Piazza San Marco, followed by a visit to the square
and to the exterior of the Doge's Palace. On the way back, we will
visit a glass factory and the afternoon will be at your own disposal,
followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel. 5th DAY: Venice - Verona - Lake Garda - Milan: Breakfast will be served in the hotel and we will then depart for Verona. Free time will be at your disposal on arrival to visit the Arena, Piazza Bra and the Balcony of Romeo and Juliet. In the afternoon we will make our way to Milan with a short stop to Lake Garda - Italy's largest lake.This is followed by dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel in Milan. 6th DAY: Milan - San Marino: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will tour the city with its Duomo, famous gothic cathedral, the Gallery and "La Scala" Opera Theatre. We will then leave to reach San Marino, one of the most ancient republics in Europe. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel. 7th DAY: San Marino - Assisi - Rome: After breakfast in the hotel we will depart for Assisi. Free time will be at your own disposal to visit the Basilica of St. Francis and the Church of St. Mary of the Angels.
