TREVI FOUNTAIN - PANTHEON - PIAZZA NAVONA - ST. PETER'S BASILICA Rome is a unique city and is so-called Eternal for having witnessed periods of extreme wealth, as well as decadence and hardship. Throughout its history, Rome has survived and revived itself, gathering all the knoweldge, memories and artefacts of those periods to form the landscape of the Rome we know today. Our tour will depart from Piazza San Bernardo, where the Moses' Fountain can be found, we will head towards Piazza Della Repubblica, previously known as Dell' Esedra - its centerpiece being the Fountain of Naiadi, which sits directly on top of the old ruins of the Diocleziano's Baths. We will continue towards Via Piemonte, the Aurelian Walls, Porta Pinciana, Via Veneto and Via Nazionale. After this detailed visit of the important parts of the city, the guided tour will lead you to the Trevi Fountain, a baroque jewel, and to the Pantheon, originally a pagan temple that is open to the public. We will head to Palazzo Madama, seat of the Senate of the Republic, and then reach the stunning Piazza Navona, built on the ruins of the Domitian's Circus. Then you will have the chance to admire Castel Sant'Angelo and to visit St. Peter's Basilica. Please do not wear shorts or sleevless clothing. CAPITOL - ROMAN FORUM - COLOSSEUM - BASILICA OF ST. PAUL'S With this tour you will enjoy the splendour of the Classic Roman Empire. Leaving Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses Fountain, heading to Piazza Della Repubblica and going along Via Nazionale, we will arrive in Piazza Venezia. Crossing the square we will leave on one side the Memorial to King Vittorio Emanuele II and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After this view of an important part of the city, the guided tour will take you to visit the square of the Capitol, the result of Michelangelo's architectural and magicical genius. Simple but stately, the square is the seat of Rome's Town Hall, from here you will enjoy the unique panorama of the Forum and of the Palatine Hill with a view of the massive structure of the Colosseum. We will then walk along the ancient pavement, which crosses the evocative ruins of the Roman Forum, the Curia and the Reggia. You will then be able to admire the Temple of Vesta, the Arch of Titus and the Arch of Costantine. The tour continues towards the Circus Maximum, the Aventine Hill and a visit to the Basilica San Paolo Fuori Le Mura. VATICAN MUSEUMS - VATICAN GALLERY - SISTINE CHAPEL - VATICAN LIBRARY HALL The main purpose of this tour is to visit the Vatican Museum. Leaving Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses' Fountain, we will head to Piazza Della Repubblica, with the Fountain of Naiadi situated at the center. We will then continue with our itinerary, passing Via Piemonte, the Aurelian Walls, Porta Pinciana, the Muro Torto and Villa Borghese. After this view of an important part of the city, we will visit the Vatican Museums and the Vatican Galleries. You will be able to admire the modern entrance built for the 2000 Jubilee, the Galleries of the Chandeliers, of the Tapestries and of the Geographical Maps, the Sobiesky Hall and the Immaculate Conception Hall. We will then stop to admire the Sistine Chapel frescoed by Michelangelo and finish the tour in the Ancient Vatican Library. Please do not wear shorts or sleevless clothing. APPIAN WAY - CHAPEL OF "DOMINE QUO VADIS" - CATACOMBS OF ST. CALLIXTUS Departing from Piazza San Bernardo and crossing Piazza Della Repubblica, we will go along Via Nazionale to reach the Basilica of St. Mary Major, built on the Esquiline Hill in 352AD. The tour will then continue to the Basilica of St. John in Lateran and then from there, we will go to the Holy Stairs climbed by Jesus Christ to reach Pilate's Palace. The tour will then again start by coach, crossing Piazza San Giovanni and Via Latina. Tavelling along the Mura Latine, the tour will pass through the Porta Di San Sebastiano to arrive on the Ancient Appia Way, where we will find the Chapel of "Domine Quo Vadis". We will finally arrive at the Catacombs of St. Callixtus, where the visit will take about 45 minutes (on Wednesdays the visit will be at the Catacombs of Santa Domitilla). On the way back, from the coach you will have an excellent view of the Caracalla Baths.
